Course Summary:
Building on the first part of the course (The Economics of Open Access – Financial Fundamentals, delivered as an On-Demand module), this live virtual segment will dive into pricing strategies, business models, and the key revenue streams and cost structures that shape OA publishing today.
Our expert tutors will bring theory to life through real-world case studies and financial modelling. Delegates will gain hands-on experience, with plenty of opportunities to analyse scenarios, exchange ideas, and deepen understanding through discussion.
Designed for publishing professionals tasked with developing OA journals and portfolios, as well as anyone involved in creating a business case for OA transitions and growth planning, this course is a crucial stepping stone to completing your OA journey.
This is Course 2b in the Open Access Journals Pathway:
- Course 1: The Open Access Landscape – Foundations and Trends (On-Demand)
- Course 2a: The Economics of OA – Financial Fundamentals (On-Demand)
- Course 2b: The Economics of OA – Pricing & Business Models (Live Virtual)
- Course 3: Growing Your OA Portfolio – From Strategy to Execution (Live Virtual)
You will gain the most by completing the entire pathway, as each course builds on the one before, however the courses are available individually.
IMPORTANT: for this course we strongly recommend completing Course 2a beforehand, as this will give the necessary grounding that will be expanded on during the live session.
Please note: Delegates will not receive a recording of the training course. Read helpful information for delegates attending.
