Overview
This course equips participants with crucial practical knowledge and skills essential for effective mentoring and coaching within the scholarly publishing industry. You will learn how to streamline the processes of setting goals, providing and receiving feedback, and defining areas of expertise. The content integrates theoretical insights with practical exchange, ensuring that the tools and techniques covered are beneficial not only for mentoring but also for enhancing managerial skills.
Mentorship programmes provide tremendous benefits not only for individuals but also for companies. According to the Springtide Research Institute, 86 percent of Generation Z workers seek mentor-type relationships, yet only 38 percent currently have them. Randstad highlights that employees in mentorship programs are 49 percent less likely to leave, saving companies $3,000 per worker in turnover costs. Additionally, mentorship fosters organizational continuity, particularly when aimed at new employees, and can also drive growth through reverse-mentoring setups.
